Central conflict between human rights
Burke, Johnson, Equiano – Reading for Global Significance
Read this week’s readings by Burke, Johnson, and Equiano. For each piece of prose writing, identify passages that point out the central conflict between human rights, and the rights afforded to individuals by the laws of England. Provide examples from each work that indicate how economics played into the actions and/or decisions made by the empire. What effect do you think these writings might have had on British Imperial policy?
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 7.
