Select one geological process that altered or changed features of the surface of the Earth in the past (ex. not recent—must be hundreds, thousands or even 1 million yrs. ago) and describe how that same geological process affects the Earth today.

In determining the age of the Earth, it was discovered that Earth is much older than anyone had previously imagined.  It is apparent that the surface of the Earth has changed many times due to the various geological processes.  Many of these processes still operate today.
