Prosecutors have indicted five people in a deadly gas explosion that destroyed a row of buildings in New York’s East Village neighborhood last March, charging a landlord, her son and a pair of contractors with manslaughter, among other crimes.

Georgia prison population, costs on rise
Just to piggy back on recent topic. In Georgia, Lawmakers are researching how to save money in the justice system and how to cut prison population. Interesting to know that Georgia is the fifth largest state in having the top number of inmates.

In the first scenario the court made the right decision to charge the five suspects with manslaughter. The landlady and her accomplices did not think about the welfare of others and that’s why they relied on unqualified personnel for the plumbing work. They had been warned about the first gas supply and were required to start a fresh and develop a new channel. They did not heed to this advice and they chose to use shortcuts by using cheap methods.
