Determine how students will be assessed during the unit and at its conclusion
In planning units of study, it is important to determine how students will be assessed during the unit and at its conclusion. Formative assessments help guide instruction, while the summative assessment must directly measure what the objective is stating.
For this assignment, use the “Unit Plan Assessments” template to create formative and summative assessments. Use the standards you selected and the objectives from your unit plan outline.
Based on your objectives create the following assessments:
Formative assessments – Create three developmentally appropriate formative assessments that are appropriate for each lesson. At least one formative assessment must use technology. Only one formative assessment for each lesson may be paper and pencil.
Summative assessment – Create one summative assessment that can be implemented at the end of the unit to assess levels of mastery of each standard and objective. The summative assessment must directly align with the objectives and the standards chosen so that the students can demonstrate the skill required in the objectives.
Write a 150-250 word rationale describing how you will accommodate the needs of individual students in testing conditions. Explain how data from your formative assessments would inform instruction.
