This topic really hits home for me. I am the daughter that is taking care of my elderly parents. Mr father had a stroke 4 years ago that has left him paralyzed on his right side. He has no movement in the right hand or arm. He has a small amount of movement in the right leg which allows him to stand and take a few steps with assistance. My mom is diabetic, but is almost blind. I have a older brother, and a younger sister who will help when ask, but they are not there all the time. I have 3 children that if it were not for them i could not keep my dad in the home. My youngest son is 27, and he and myself live with my parents to help them out but we both work. It can be very tiring at times, but my son is great and he does most everything from showering, changing, taking him to appointments. We would not have it another way but it would be nice to say to the family “could someone just take a day or night? It would be even more nice if they just showed up and said we got this go take a nap
