Developing a new kind of innovative alternative education school
An evaluation plan is part of the framework for developing a new kind of innovative alternative education school or program. Developing a logic model is a common tool used for program evaluation planning. A basic logic model paints a picture of how a program (or school) will work. Part of the logic model is formulating evaluation questions that will be useful to stakeholders. There are two types of evaluation questions—formative and summative.
Referring to the table Benefits of Formative and Summative Evaluation Questions in the Logic Model Development Guide (W.K. Kellogg Foundation, 2004), respond to the following questions:
Which type of evaluation questions do you anticipate will be most beneficial when planning a new type of innovative alternative education school or program?
How will that type of evaluation be beneficial during the planning process?
