What are the main challenges in the community, and why?
The main challenges of the community is to encourage the adoption of their solar system project by other communities in order to achieve a better and more sustainable way of living. The reason for this to be a challenge is because people prefer to spend less money in electricity made out of fossil fuels as it is more economic. However, the T’Sou-ke Nation focuses on sustainability and on leaving a legacy for future generations, rather than financial recovery like most western communities do, and therefore make them change to sustainable sources of energy represents a challenge.
What are some of the positive initiatives in the community? The community has been trying to teach other communities what they learned through the process of development and progress of their project. They do not charge any cost for them to explain what their mistakes where during the development of their project, even when this mistakes brought high costs to their community. However, the main reason for the T’Sou-ke Nation to provide its knowledge on the project for free is to achieve a better good for all communities overall, as the project itself, represents a positive impact in the environment that surrounds any community that decides to enforce this initiative within its boundaries.
Is there a particular environmental issue that affects the community?4. What was for you the most important thing that you learned about the community, and why?I always thought that projects that include things such as solar panels where really expensive and that it would most likely be unnecessary to spend so much money on this, as anyone would rather go with more economic options like electricity made out of fossil fuels. However, my thinking changed when I realized that although all of the explained above is true, the benefits of electricity made out of sustainable sources such as solar panels, overweight those from fossil fuels in the long run. At the end of our trip, I realized that the first nations community focuses not only on financial issues, but also in the environment and on a legacy to their future generations.
Reflect on whether there is an environmental justice issue that affects the community?

……………………….Answer preview………………………..
There are many environmental justice issues that affect T’sou-Ke as a community. However, the most serious issue concerns the cutting of trees by the government to help in construction of power supply posts. In addition, the government has failed to provide local communities with solar panels as alternative sources of energy. Since most of the people in the community live on abject poverty……………………..
