PAPER #1: ACTIVE SEEING / DIVERSITY. 150 POINTS Discuss a controversial or poignant piece of art, think about what you see and research what the artist intended. How can cultural differences change the way art is viewed? How do we use “Active Seeing” to filter through a long history of social constructs: fears, prejudices, desires, emotions, customs, and beliefs? Artists are engaged in a creative process. While making any form of art, the painter, or artist, always has some message that he wishes to pass.
