This week, you will complete the third section of your ePortfolio that demonstrates your cultural competence in the area of Diverse Family Structures.  You will add a new page to your ePortfolio that you created in Week One using Google Sites.  Please review the “Creating an ePortfolio” job aid and the Example ePortfolio  for guidance.

After you have watched and reflected on Mr. Keiley’s comments regarding teaching and homelessness, address the following in a two page essay:

Mr. Keiley shared that if the child’s parents are struggling then the children will struggle as well.  Discuss how would you address this as the classroom teacher?

Mr. Keiley shared that if the child’s parents are struggling then the children will struggle as well. Discuss how would you address this as the classroom teacher?
According to the video about the Monarch School, I think Mr. Keiley is trying to show how students will be affected mostly by the problems they are facing with their parent. As classroom teacher in this case, I would definitely say is a difficult issue to deal with, however, by fully involving and engaging students in activities that will make them forget the problems they have and focus on the schoolwork…………………………..
