Module 1
Define health promotion, and describe the action areas of health promotion, the Ecological Perspective, and the role of behavior and the environment in health promotion.
Discuss the role of theory in Health Promotion, and identify the main theories and theoretical models used in Health Promotion, their focus and key concepts, as well as their application in planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Module 2
Discuss what a needs assessment is, the steps involved in the needs assessment, and why it is important for public health planners to conduct a needs assessment before embarking on any health promotion program/intervention.
Describe and discuss the 5 phases of assessment in the PRECEDE-PROCEED model.
Module 3
Write a program’s mission statement, goals, and objectives, and identify strategies and interventions for the health promotion plan.
Design a health promotion program. Review research articles detailing health promotion programs.
Module 4
Determine important issues in identifying and allocating resources for health promotion programs, and discuss principles, processes, strategies, and concerns of program implementation.
Identify and describe the three different levels of evaluating health promotion programs, evaluation methods, data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
