Creating a pamphlet that can be used for patient education within the population of clients for which you will be providing care during your preceptorship. This pamphlet should incorporate one of three levels of preventative care education.
For my topic I choose Diabetes
Primary prevention: Developing strategies to prevent risk factors and unhealthy behaviors
Secondary prevention: Identifying those with specific risk factors for disease and providing education to prevent onset of disease or control these risk factors.
Tertiary prevention: Educating the patient on how to manage an illness or disease once it has already occurred, so it does not deteriorate or become worse.
