Provide a very brief historical description of how the country came to the current form of democracy/authoritarianism that exists today. 

For this paper you will select one of the above countries to write a country report; similar to the country studies you have read in the textbook. (1) You will provide a very brief historical description of how the country came to the current form of democracy/authoritarianism that exists today. (2) You will then provide an overview of the governing institutions in the country and a brief description of their current leader(s). Based upon what you have learned in class, what are the strongest and weakest points for their governing structure? (3) This is followed by a discussion of the ten conditions for democracy from Chpt. 9—Given your research about your country, which factors do you think are the strongest points of support for democracy in your country and which do you think are the weakest. You do not need to address all then in your paper, just those that are relevant. (4) Discuss current conditions in the country—gdp/capita, ethnic/religious divides, freedom house score, GINI, etc. (5) Describe two to three current difficulties your country currently faces. What is the government doing to help alleviate these problems? In your opinion have the government’s policies helped to alleviate these problems or aggravated the problems? What do you think should be done to combat these problems?
