Eastern religions such as Buddhism, Jainism, and Hinduism believe in the reality of karma, although may express the particularities of belief in slightly different ways.

The Judeo-Christian faith presents a loving God who oversees his creation in a purposeful and forward-looking way.  This oversight is commonly called providence.

Taking into account the reality of karma, on the one hand, and providence on the other hand, how is the continuing “Problem of Evil” dealt with?

How might a karmic explanation of evil differ from one that advocates the providence of the biblical God?
