The concept of data transparency has gained quite a bit of ground . Some journals (particularly international) require that investigators/authors provide their De-identified data as part of submission of a manuscript and that the data becomes public. Any study that is federally funded where results are published, the article must be publicly available (but not the database). Why would some investigators be concerned about sharing their databases (not focusing on fraud)…what are your thoughts about publicly available data?
