1. Select a minimum of two theatre forms or dramas from different cultures (Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the U.S.A) for a compare/contrast analysis.
Examples:
a). Ancient Greek Oedipus the King – Classical Japanese (Noh) Atsumori
b). Classical Chinese Snow in Midsummer – Arabic Song of Death
c). Spanish, Fuenteovejuna – English Renaissance Hamlet
d). French Tartuffe – Russian, The Cherry Orchard
e). Classical Indian, The Little Clay Cart – Modern German The Goodwoman of Setzuan
f). Modern Europe, A Doll House – Latin American, Mud

The list can go on using any combination of two plays as above.
2. In your analysis, address the following three questions:
• How each specific theatre form or drama was created reflecting the culture, people, history, or politics of that society and time period.
• How the two theatre forms or dramas are different or similar to each other.
• How these two theatre forms or dramas have enriched the world theatre and drama into the future for the global community in the 21st Century.
