What do you see in the Greek culture that resonates with your Roman sensibilities
A. You are a Greek looking at the Roman culture – What do you see and how does any similarities or changes to your Greek tradition make you feel?
My Greek culture builds statues that include both humans and architecture. The human statutes typically show some or all of the body nude. The nude bodies represent strength, athleticism, human beauty and a balance of being graceful, rational and strong. Us Greeks live by our Gods and Goddesses.
When I looked into the Roman Culture I discovered that the Romans have a lot of simultaneities to the the Geeks. There human statutes and architecture also represent strength, leadership and power. However, there statues also show what the person actually looked like with their unique features; a sense of realism in the art. The Romans also value human work, accomplishments, technology Gods and Goddesses.
I realized that the Romans took a lot of the Greeks ideas and beliefs which is a little off putting but I am glad they put there on style on their culture to make it their own and true to their hearts and beliefs.

The overall structure of the Parthenon is similar to the Pantheon, but there are key differences. One of the main similarities is the columns, but structurally they are different. The columns of the Pantheon are much larger than anything the Greeks ever used, and each column is one piece of stone, which differs from the Greeks, because their columns were made in sections. Also, the Parthenon is a rectangular structure, while the main structure of the Pantheon is built to contain a sphere. Another similarity is that both structures were created as temples to the gods, but even here there are differences. The Parthenon was built for one goddess, Athena, while the Pantheon was built for all the Roman gods and goddesses. Looking at Roman culture in comparison to Greek culture, there are many similarities, as well as differences, when it comes to art. The Greeks created sculptures that were supposed to represent the perfect physical form, while Romans included peoples imperfections and quirks in their artwork. I believe this makes Roman artwork more human, and also makes the subjects of their artwork more recognizable. I think this is the ideal way to create artwork because it depicts every kind of person as being beautiful. Someone took the time to create a piece of art that they could possibly relate to or see themselves in, instead of artwork that depicts a body or face that could be unattainable.
