The champions of this reform movement simply understood God’s Kingdom as calling for not only social but also individual salvation. They pursued improvement of the developed community by applying Biblical concepts of justice and charity. Basically, the aim was to tie great deeds and salvation together. This movement created settlement homes for the needy in the society, which greatly reformed the lives of these people. Through good works, the movement reshaped the role of religion in the society.
