Connectivism Scavenger Hunt: Questions
( References : Driscoll, M.P. (2005). Psychology of learning for instruction (3rd Ed.). New York, NY: Pearson.)

1) Driscoll states, “Evaluating various learning theories for their validity and usefulness ultimately becomes a matter of developing a personal theory of learning and instruction” ( p.411). Throughout the semester, have you changed or developed your own personal learning theory? What concepts and ideas will you utilize to guide your own instructional practices?

According to Siemens, “Learning is a process that occurs within nebulous environments of shifting core elements – not entirely under the control of the individual.” This implies that learning can occur from multiple sources and is not limited to an individual’s current level of knowledge. With so many rapidly changing sources of information available to our learners (both in education and outside), what role does the instructor play in connectivism? Describe how you use connectivity to learn or teach.

This very short scavenger hunt provides you an opportunity to explore some of the concepts related to Connectivism. Your charge is to respond from your perspective as a learner. Consider how this theory might impact education in general and you specifically.
(A) What does it mean for educators to embrace Connectivism to support learning? As a current or future educator, what would you have to do differently to be connected, and what habits do you have or would you need to develop? Watch and read the following.
