Locate at least five communications you feel are representative of your chosen community’s writing. These can be Tweets, posts to an Instagram hashtag, professional documents, written speeches, fliers, articles, forum posts, or any other writing your community does to communicate with each other.Provide a link to each of these five example communications or, for shorter communications, paste in the text itself. Make sure your links work! You may need to quote from it in the next parts of the assignment. You can always resubmit an assignment if you need to correct broken hyperlinks.
For each example, what do you think the author\’s purpose for writing that example was? What were they trying to do (ask a question, state an opinion, win an argument, etc) and how did the community respond to this example?
Write a brief (2-3 sentence) description of why that communication is representative of some aspect of your chosen community. Do they use specialized language (like \”NGD\”), are they engaging in some typical activity (like asking for help with a guitar issue), or anything else that you feel will help outsiders understand this group better? You will be the expert on this community in this class, so you decide what we need to know.
Note: You\’ll be using these examples (and more) throughout the rest of the project, so spend some time hunting for examples that you feel you might have a lot to say about. If you\’re struggling to write 2-3 sentences about an example now, it\’s probably not the best example to rely on when you\’re writing your in-depth description of the community. Keep looking.
