Assignment Instructions: You are a Certified medical assistant working for a Gastroenterologist. A 22-year-old male is referred to the clinic by his PCP after complaining of blood tinged stools, mild abdominal cramping; loss of appetite, and weakness.
Describe your expected actions and findings related to the following subjective and objective data:
Subjective: Patient states abdominal pain, blood-tinged stools, loss of appetite, and fatigue.
Objective: VS: HR 73, BP 120/78, O2 Sat 98% on RA (room air), Resp. 20, Temp. 99. On assessment, the patient demonstrates abdominal tenderness upon palpation.
Lab work: Increased c- reactive proteins, mild anemia, and increased levels of White Blood Cells. Stool test was done showed the presence of blood and pus.
