Explain some of the differences according to social class

Answer the following questions based on The Decameron in your textbook, World Literature IPart Two, on pp. 45-60. Your responses for each questions should be 150 words or more each.

1. How did Boccaccio describe the conditions under which people died or survived the plague and the ways they responded to the plague? Explain some of the differences according to social class.

2. Think about the different stories he relates about people. Overall, what do the characters and their motives reveal about how Boccaccio saw society?

3. Towards the end of his life, Boccaccio regretted writing The Decameron on grounds that it was “immoral.” Keeping in mind the mentality of the Middle Ages, discuss an example from the reading that he may have been critical about.
