Biological etiology of bi-polar disorder
I appreciate your detailed response to our discussion question this week. Now that you\’ve read about the biological etiology of bi-polar disorder as well as the behavioral perspective – which do you think is most accurate? With regard to the counselor\’s conceptualization and how they frame a diagnosis to their client – what is the counselor\’s responsibility? For example, from my counseling perspective can vary depending on the disorder or the symptoms. For mood disorders, I tend to think from the biological perspective, but for others, such as anxiety, I tend to think more from a behavioral perspective. Is this okay? DO I have an obligation to explain why I conceptualize a case the way I do to a client?
