Assessment at the adult stage does not contain the challenges of the child and adolescent stages
Assignment: Practice Toolbox: Adult Assessment
Assessment at the adult stage does not contain the challenges of the child and adolescent stages, in which the practitioner may experience communication difficulties with the client or must rely on parents and caregivers for context. This does not mean assessment is easy, however.
Social work assessment tools for adults range from personality inventories to health questionnaires and from scales of symptom severity to ratings about the frequency of alcohol and substance use. Such tools can be client-reported or practitioner-reported after discussion and observation.
In this Assignment, you survey the tools available for use with adult clients and add one to your Practice Toolbox.
