I had a VA appointment that I could not afford to miss
In 75 words or more.
Last week I had a VA appointment that I could not afford to miss. My appointment was at 1230 so I decided to leave my house at 1120. That will allow me to make my appointment exactly 10 minutes prior to checking in. I assumed the appointment was at a normal hospital or clinic so I did not think that finding this facility would be difficult. The risk I took was not riding by the facility a couple days prior to my appointment so that I would be sure to make it there on time and that I knew exactly where and how to drive to my destination. The problem I faced was that my navigation took me a longer way even though it said the shortest route. Also, the building numbers was a little difficult at spotting. I ended up arriving 2 minutes before my appointment when the email specifically said to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to checkin. Luckily, the ladies at the clinic were nice and understanding of the situation. I honestly didn’t think that all of the things I said wouldn’t happen, did! For now on, for all appointments and meetings I will scout the area prior so that I can arrive at an appropriate time.
