American experience

There are many different lens by which to view the American experience. I’ve presented a view of American history through the lens of banking. Or, correspondingly, a view of banking through the lens of American history. Regardless, the challenge of creating a financial structure that preserved the blessings of liberty and freedom, let alone planting the seeds for growing a free enterprise system, has been daunting.

Your task for this essay is to succinctly, concisely summarize this scope of history up to the creation of the FED in 1913. I realize that is lot of history for a short paper, but as future financiers, we have an obligation to tell the story of free markets.
