The purpose of the Historical Review Project for the candidate is threefold: 1) to produce an accurate historical review of an American college, 2) to demonstrate knowledge and application of the current APA formatting and writing style, and 3) to be able to articulate a biblical worldview perspective concerning the historical issue the candidate has chosen.
For this assignment, you will select an early American college as your topic for this project, compose a research question or thesis statement, and develop an outline for the main components of the Historical Review Project: Research Paper Assignment you will submit in the next module.
Instructions
Choose one of the early American colleges still in existence today (a list can be found by conducting a Google search).
Review the institution’s history and develop a research question or thesis statement to investigate a particular theme, era, person, or organizational unit aboutthe college’s history. In developing a research question or thesis statement, be sure to do a thorough review of the chosen college’s website. Pay particular attention to the historical content of the website. As you review the website, what questions come to mind?Questions such as why, what, when, and how are good starting places. Develop a research question or thesis statement that can be answered from the college’s website, as that website will be yourinitial introduction to your topic.
Using the provided Historical Review Project: Outline Template, compose an outline that contains the five main sections (i.e., I, II, III) shown in the templated outline.
- Each main section must contain at least three subpoints, and 2 -3 descriptive sentences must accompany each subpoint.
An authoritative source must support each subpoint. A minimum of three different sources is expected. The sources must include the college website, the Bible, and other scholarly resources.
Include a title page and references page formatted to current APA standards.
