Visit Texas Education Agency (TEA)

Part One

Visit Texas Education Agency (TEA) at http://tea.texas.gov/.

Under Texas Schools, find a school and/or district website from El Valle (e.g., La Joya, Edinburg).

From the school or general district, look for data about one specific group of diverse students discussed in this course (e.g., students with learning disabilities, English learners (Els) or emerged students (EBs), undocumented/immigrant students, students from a particular racial/cultural background, and GLBTQIA students).

Consider programs of accessibility and determine how students\’ abilities are or not currently be supported for the selected group population.

Write your tentative title and keywords to start your research at the library.

Then, visit UTRGV https://www.utrgv.edu/library/ and look for six academic references. They must be empirical articles to provide evidence of these students\’ needs and challenges at school. Also, consider the systematic factors, policies, inequities, and societal factors these students face to access quality education.

Consider Database EBSCO, ERIC, and JSTOR (2 of each)

Look for six articles from 2010 to current

Cite the six references in APA 7th edition. More information: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/reference_list_articles_in_periodicals.htm

Note: No need to read all articles. The abstracts detail empirical information as quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods—also, the population.
