I plan to assess Microsoft Company. As we all know, Microsoft recently mergers Nokia. The change of the CEO of the Nokia is a good OB problem. The new CEO of the Nokia faces a lot of problems about employee’s trust and dissatisfy. He needs to do a lot of work to regain their trust. My project is about how the CEO should do.First, I will analyze the current condition of the Nokia and do some research about their employees. Second, I also will do some in-depth analysis with employee’s attitudes to their new CEO. At last I will give my assessment to the new CEO. It can help him to regain trust and make the company work better.

Please note that your final organizational assessment report should be at least 3500 words in length, excluding the title page, table of contents and reference page. ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT REPORT

An effective way to help students learn about organizational behavior is by analyzing the management activities of a real organization.  This project is designed to accomplish such a task.

Each student is to locate an organization and through qualitative and/or quantitative means determine a problem relating to organizational behavior and decide on the appropriate interventions to remedy the organizational problem.  The student will write a consulting report that fully describes the organizational problem(s) and specific recommendations to remedy the organizational problem(s).

The organizational assessment involves diagnosing the causes of an organizational behavior problem within a real organization.  The diagnostic report should cover a) the problem; b) alternative explanations/theories explaining why the problem exists; c) qualitative and/or quantitative data collected that would helps understand the problem,    d) the factors in the organization or environment that contribute to the problem but are not changeable e) the specific action steps the should be implemented to remedy the problem.

The rubric for evaluating the organizational assessment is listed below:

  • Clarity of the organizational problem and its likely causes – 20%
  • Clarity of the method section describing the scope of the project and means of gathering data – 20%
  • Clarity and sufficiency of the data analysis and quality of outside sources – 20%
  • Clarity and appropriateness of specific recommendations to the client as to what the next steps should be – 20%
  • Quality of the written report and final presentation – 20%

The purpose of the assignment is to give students an opportunity to actually complete the tasks necessary to conduct a formal organizational assessment.

Such organizations involve a wide spectrum of activities and can be categorized as public or private, governmental or non-governmental, for-profit or non-profit, among others. There are organizations which are dedicated to their own agenda.
