Compare some aspect of the family narratives in Fun Home 

For this paper on Fun Home and The Simpsons, you have a choice of topic and two choices of presentation format: conventional written paper or a comic you draw or compile.The papers are due at the beginning of class. Topic: Compare some aspect of the family narratives in Fun Home, the Simpsons, and one additional class reading from weeks 9 through 12. For example, compare father/ son relationships or attitudes to marriage or adolescent problems. Briefly state the relevant part of the plots, but do not stop with plot summary. Come to a conclusion about how and why the narratives are shaped as they are. How do these narratives reflect contemporary ideas about family, gender, or specific issues on which you focus.

From Me: We also read spocks book on parenting, Freuds Dora hysteria. The most one we focused on related to this book was Spocks book on parenting. Email me I could send you the readings I do have. Spock spoke on how close parents should be to their kids etc. The Mandava reading and Ramdya reading aren’t important. If you wrote enough with Spock, Fun Home, Barounis Bechdel and Simpsons, then don’t even bother using the other reading.
