This assignment asks you to read a short economic news article, evaluate and analyze it, then
write a one-page critique of the article. You can choose an article from whatever sources (you
will need to assess the credibility of the source, and it is also part of the assignment), but it
needs to be related to some topics that we have covered in class or we will cover in the next
few weeks. It does not need to be on a current Canadian event, and any foreign and/or historic
events are welcome as long as you can find a short article on the topic.
It is a practice to write a concise summary and critique on something, which will be a useful
skill for your future job interviews (and your final exam). Therefore, do not try to write a
grand-scale essay in one page.
