Hey how’s it going this essay will be about me joining the army and
finding direction saved my life / becoming a man 11 years of service
medical retired this past July came in September 2004 come from long
history of Army service family tradition .
I deployed in 2006 15 months for the first time to Iraq scary one was
in a gas attack and mortar attack second time in 2009 12 months
handing base over to iraqs
I was in trouble a lot before I joined gangs and parents were in a bad
divorce so I acted out living with my mom and she sent me to my dad
who was a Sgt major
He was hard and I rebelled moved to Mississippi from Texas with my
grandparents and town was small only a factory where everyone worked
so I got into drugs and I knew it wasn’t the life went back to my
father and made him proud by joining the army living with the rank of
staff Sergeant medically retired due to complications from gas attack
lung condition
Saddest day was when they told me I cannot continue my career but I’m
happy that I can still support the troops with my current job as a
logistic manager with General dynamics the last day in the army I
started with General dynamics
