Correlation is “a measure of the strength of an association between two variables” (Hauke & Kossowski, 2011). Dr. Hirsch’s research is on the link between choices of food and behavior. So as to determine the link between people’s choices of food, snacks, and personality, the doctor asked 19400 people questions. He made sure that all the participants underwent two personality tests.
