According to the Virginia Department of Health, the five leading causes of death in Virginia Beach in 2014 were cancer, heart disease, unintentional injury, stroke, and chronic lower respiratory diseases. The top two causes, cancer and heart disease, accounted for 44.2 percent of all deaths in Virginia Beach in 2014. Compared to the state, Virginia Beach residents had higher mortality rates for cancer, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia, suicide, and Parkinson’s disease in 2014.

My community is Virginia Beach and I would want my project /paper to be on Heart Disease in my community.
