This light-hearted video considers a serious question – was it in fact too late for either side to back down? At the time there were advocates who strongly supported each position. Loyalty, honor, and economics all influenced people’s point of view.
For your initial post, discuss whether you believe that England and the colonies had irreconcilable differences that could only be resolved though military action. Support your answer with specific examples.
With two other students discuss how economics factored into the decision to break with England.

…………………………..Answer preview………………………Based on my understanding and opinion, the differences between England and colonies were irreconcilable. This meant that the only way to solve the conflicts were through wars. The reason behind my point of view is that the anger towards the British and colonial resentment had grown to a point where it was impossible to use peaceable and diplomatic means to solve the conflict. The British perceived colonialists’ action to resent their rule as signs of ingratitude and disrespect. The British believed they had done a lot for their colonies………………
