I have always had trouble with concentration and remembering important facts.  I have memorized things and then forgotten them.  I have always used short term memory for my studies.  After reading this chapter I have learned that there are numerous ways to remember facts.  Since starting my classes here at Kaplan I have been taking notes while reading materials that have been assigned.  I find that this makes it easy for me to review what the chapter is about.  I am planning on using the SQ3R method for study.  This should help with actually knowing what I read and helping me to retain what I read.  I am using memory helpers now also.  I try to get atleast 8 hours sleep a night.  I set up a study area today where my computer and notebooks and other essentials are all in easy access.  I have a lamp for good lighting.  I plan on taking 5 min. breaks after every half hour of study to keep from getting fatigued.  If I feel I need a longer break, I will take it.  Proper diet is not even in my vocabulary, but starting today I am trying to eat 3 healthy meals a day.  I am very positive about this venture so I feel that I will be very successful with my grades.  I got off to a bad start that was beyond my control, but I am trying very hard to stay on top of things now.

The SQ3R method for study is one of the best techniques that help people to remember information they have read over time. The method entails taking a survey of the material, questioning the content, and reading, reciting and reviewing. This method is useful for people with high concentrative skills. Debbie should consider improving their attitude and taking long breaks during the study. The long breaks helps to refreshes up the mind hence guide one to achieve the learned subjects in the classroom………………..
