Using the Platonic distinction between appearance and reality, Kant argued that we, in fact, never have knowledge of reality but only of things as they appear to us, and that the mind itself contributes the forms in which we know appearances. How did Hobbes’ view of the mind differ from Descartes‘? How is Hobbes’ view of the mind similar to or distinct from your own?
