This case study will involve research into India and writing about your results.
Part One: Like the U.S., India has several different states. You are to research these states and select one of the states in India for us to open a business of your choice (Could be a call center or FBO, or any type of business related to your area of study (area of study is Business accounting and management)).
(This is the level of DELEGATION: Investigate and report back with recommendations) After deciding the type of business you will recommend to me that we start, you will write up a summary/description of the state and city in India where we will locate this business. Your research and your paper should and INCLUDE THESE SECTIONS (Use CIA Factbook and other sources…see link below):
Geographic region, cities, demographics
age breakdown, income levels, gender issues, etc.
education available (colleges–there are a lot of colleges in India),
business climate,
people, population in area and language spoken,
religion (there are many religions),
holidays (how many holidays do they observe?), Food
culture issues and differences,
summary/description of the state you have selected (map)
Next, and very important, I want you to explain why we should open our business in the particular state you have selected. Pick a state which would be ideal for the business you have chosen. Some questions you should ask and include in your paper: Are there other business competition in this state? Names ? Also, check out the CIA Factbook link for some interesting facts for country of India as a whole. You will find it at the link below- https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/
I also want you include in the paper a section that describe the skills and attributes you will need to work in India as a supervisor in the business you have chosen (This should be comprehensive). Explain how you will prepare for this task. Will you manage the same way as you do here in the U.S.? If not, what will you do differently and why? Finally, what management issues are the same and what issues are different between the U.S. and India?
For this part of the paper I want you to include a comparison of the U.S culture dimensions and India culture dimensions using the Geert Hofstede model listed at the link below (Please click on the country of India and US and compare the similarities and differences and include this information in your second paper):
