Write a paper as though you were a large South Carolina plantation owner with over 100 slaves during the years leading up to the Civil War. Your paper should be designed to convince people in this time period that:
The United States should remain a nation with slavery.
That slavery is good for both American citizens and the nation.
If it looks like the United States government will eliminate slavery then South Carolina should secede from the Union (break away from the United States)
Your paper should be 3 pages in length. Make sure that your argument uses points (from the primary sources and textbook reading) that would have been made by a a person in favor of slavery during the years leading up to the Civil War. You do not need to include citations for this paper.
