            How can corruption in a country be measured? If one abuses public office for private gain purposes which is done behind closed doors? How can the depth and scale of corruption be captured in a systematic and credible manner? These are the questions this article is trying to answer. According to Claire the Transparency International, an NGO trying to deal with corruption at international level has scored and ranked nations in according to the level of corruption in their public sectors. The Corruption Perception Index of 2013 of the organization drew data on 13 sources. The report was based on country experts and businesspeople perception of corruption in their nations.

            The 2013 CPI index gave 177 nations a score between zero and 100. A country with zero score was perceived to have a highly corrupt public sector. On the other hand, a country with a score of 100 was perceived to have a clean public sector. According to the findings of the Index, New Zealand and Denmark top the list of nations that have low corruption cases. Afghanistan, Somalia and North Korea on the other had the most corrupt public sectors. The report went on to reveal that over two-thirds of the nations examined had a score of below 50……………………………
