Do you act the same way when you are alone compared to how you act around other people? The concept of social influence explores how people change their behavior, attitudes, and beliefs based on the presence of others. However, what happens when there is an emergency? The bystander effect is a phenomenon that shows how the presence of others causes you to feel less personal responsibility to help others in need. Active bystanders step up and take action, whereas passive bystanders do and say nothing.
