Also, review the Classics in the History of Psychology website. You must also find one scholarly article written by your selected psychologist (see instructions below).
Theory assists psychologists in better understanding human thought, behavior, and action. Understanding how researchers go about formulating theories is an important foundation in the science of psychology. In this discussion, you will be exploring this process by researching a psychologist and learning about him or her.
To complete this activity,
Select one noted psychologist from any of the included lists in The 100 Most Eminent Psychologists of the 20th Century article and locate a scholarly article written by him or her. (As an alternative to locating an article via a search, you may choose one that is identified in Classic Articles as Primary Source Reading in Introductory Psychology).
After you have selected your psychologist and found an article, include the following in your discussion:
Summarize the contributions of the influential figure you selected to the field of psychology.
Relate pertinent information regarding your selected psychologist and his or her main theoretical contributions to the field.
Interpret any empirical work (i.e., research study) that is presented in the article. (Tell us what they found.)
