Nursing leadership plays a large role in overall job satisfaction of staff nurses.

Nursing leadership plays a large role in overall job satisfaction of staff nurses. Transformational leadership is a leadership style that is characterized by effective communication, individualized consideration, and charismatic influence. This type of leadership has been shown to have a positive correlation with nurse job satisfaction (Specchia et. al, 2021). One study has shown that education on the importance of transformational leadership has changed the behaviors of nurse leaders in a positive direction (Singh, 2020). I would like to take this a step further and find out if continuing education and training can adapt nurse leaders to a transformational leadership style, improving staff retention and job satisfaction.
My PICOT question: For nurses in a hospital setting, will training and educating nurse leaders to adapt to a transformational leadership style, as compared to no leadership intervention, improve staff retention and satisfaction over a 12 week period?
P- nurses in a hospital setting
I- transformational leadership training/education for nurse leaders
C- to leadership intervention
O-increased employee retention and satisfaction
T- 12 weeks
