Total Behavior teaches us that behavior has four components

Melissa Banks
Processing Therapy (2023) “Total Behavior teaches us that behavior has four components: acting, thinking, feeling, and physiology”. I do agree to a certain point about the theory of total behavior, I feel that environmental factors and social interactions also can play apart in an individuals behavior as well. As a person grows up they can inherit certain behaviors and traits that can either be positive and/or negative.

According to the total behavior theory the concept relates to an individuals basic needs, which can also be combined in certain interactions and situations as well which can possibly include various needs and not just one for example having children can cause someone to feel like their sense of freedom is gone and depending on the situation between the parents a sense of survival can also kick in as well, and that they have no sense of self. But as time goes on the person can choose to accomplish their wants and needs which can vary from person to person.
