I cannot imagine someone going into this field without having a lick of empathy. Can you imagine someone going through all of this schooling and training but not have the ability to empathize at all? To me, it would be like teachers going into teaching just as a means of income. A common phrase I hear about teachers is “in it for the outcome, not the income”. That’s the same energy counselors need. I also think it is important to understand the difference between when patients need to heal from the past versus finding their purpose in life.
