Persuasive Speech

Prepare and present a 6-8 minute persuasive speech live to at least three audience members. Your speech should be designed to cause some change in your audience’s actions, not merely in their beliefs. Provide arguments as to why the audience should do things your way rather than continuing with their present behavior and anticipate and refute the audience’s reasons for saying “no.” Your persuasive intent should be reflected in your central idea and should be reinforced throughout the speech. The speech content must incorporate information from four credible references.
The speech should be based on a workplace or civic issue. Choose a topic that you feel strongly about, as you will have a greater likelihood of success. Civic examples are as follows: reduce/reuse/recycle, donate to a cause (such as the Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, the Red Cross, the March of Dimes), or lobby your legislator concerning a specific issue. A workplace topic can be something like exploring a new business opportunity or approach, changing a policy, making a pitch to investors (like Shark Tank) or potential clients, or anything else that you would like to advocate. Be sure to anticipate your audience’s likely objections and address those.
The speech should be delivered extemporaneously using your outline or note cards instead of writing out a full manuscript. Use one or more visual aids as described in the the course material. Have a question and answer period for 2-4 minutes following your presentation.

Develop a PowerPoint presentation to support your persuasive speech. You don’t have to necessarily use this presentation during your speech, but it should be prepared as if you would use it.
Include no fewer than 10 slides. Include commentary in the speaker notes section of PowerPoint slides with text that would be spoken if the slide presentation were given face-to-face.
Have parallel bullet points; use phrases rather than sentences. Include effective and relevant graphics. Have a consistent format and color scheme.

After being signed in by the volunteers, some questions are answered in a confidential interview whereby temperature, pulse, blood pressure and hemoglobin level present in a sample of blood is checked, actual donation of 8-10 minutes while seated comfortably and enjoy a snack and drink after accomplishing saving lives………..
