In Modules One and Two, you learned about hypervisors that run virtual machines.
In Modules One and Two, you learned about hypervisors that run virtual machines. As Collins (2016) describes, the “two most common choices for hypervisors include vSphere, a VMware product, and Hyper-V by Microsoft,” (p. 2). Some professionals in IT perceive that Hyper-V and VMware are in direct competition with one another. They are like Mac versus PC, like Pepsi versus Coke, like Marvel versus DC.
For this week’s discussion, you will pick a side! Are you on team VMware vSphere or are you on team Microsoft Hyper-V?
To inform your decision, reflect on the article that you read for this week, Hyper-V vs. VMware: Which Is Best?
In your initial discussion post for this week:
Determine which team you want to be on: Which hypervisor do you think is better, VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V?
Explain why you selected that hypervisor over the other
Discuss its pros and the factors that helped you make your decision
In your response to your peers, you will represent the other side:
Explain why you think that the other hypervisor is better than the one your peer has chosen
Discuss the cons of the hypervisor that your peer discussed
Example: If your peer discussed VMware vSphere, respond by discussing its cons and explaining why you think Microsoft Hyper-V is the team to be on.
To complete this assignment, review the Discussion Rubric document.
