I think you could skim through chapter 2 (The Logic of the Malthusian Economy), chapter 9 (The Emergence of Modern Man), and part 2 of the book (The Industrial Revolution) to get the big picture of the theory. The main argument should revolve around the industrial revolution as it explain why the economic activity shift from the primary sector – agriculture to secondary and tertiary such as manufacturing and trade.
