Coaching Philosophy
- Build relationship with players- Building a relationship with players will help them trust you
- Establish goals for yourself- This will help the players strive for something and make them want to work harder to reach those goals
- Strive for more than just being a good player- Coaching isn’t just about making them better players but better people off the field too
- Make athletes aware of your standards- If the athletes don’t know yours standards then they will not know how to work to your standards
- Be encouraging- Show the athletes your care about the individual success not just the team’s success
- Learn about your athlete- Not all athletes respond the same so if you have to learn what each one responds too
- Hold your standards- You have hold your standards to each individual athlete and not treat them differently based on the type of athlete they are
- Let the enjoy the game your teaching– If the athletes enjoy what they are doing they gravitate towards working harder at it
- Provide a meaningful experience- Try to teach them stuff that will take with them not only to the next level but into life
- Live up to the the standards that you are asking of your team- Just cause you’re the coach it doesn’t mean you can just do what you want you have to set an example
- Provide opportunities for the players- strive to help the players reach their goals they have for the game and life
Keep it simple- Make it an easy environment for the athletes to learn

I believe I do have a better understanding of how a strong culture and football philosophy are important to team success because it’s a guideline to how you’re gonna attack each practice and game. It also helps you set the standard on what you expect from your players. I do see commonalities between winning or successful programs, usually they hold similar standards and expect a lot from their players while still making it a good learning environment. I believe there are different types of success when you look at a program because there is success on the field, there’s individual success with the players and also team success which is growth and bonding between the team and coaches.
