Clinical education is an essential part of nursing education as it involves imparting; the clinical skills and knowledge required in the practical world. Nursing students must receive a positive environment that will provide them with individual and professional development (Arkan et al., 2018). The quality learning environment improves students’ professional critical thinking; and decision-making skills and increases their self-confidence (Arkan et al., 2018). My clinical experience as a student has been very positive. One of my clinical instructors was very straightforward in how she taught students to enforce critical thinking. During the rotation, she would give us the freedom to learn and, at the same time, give us resourceful guidance. Her passion for nursing still resonates with me and coaches me to be a better nurse today. Another experience was during my capstone, where I started my first nursing job upon graduation. My preceptor, the nurses, and the hospital environment were so welcoming and supportive that influenced positive effects on my learning process (Arkan et al., 2018). I learned a great deal in terms of workflow as a nurse, interacting with a multidisciplinary team, and interacting with the patients. My preceptor involved me in patient care; it increased my motivation, self-confidence, and the learning process. Ongoing constructive feedback was provided to me that boosted my confidence and; increased my professionalism in my clinical practice. Since my preceptor also worked as a charge nurse, so during my capstone, I also got to understand the responsibilities of a charge nurse and understand leadership roles. I would not deny that the clinical environment was challenging in terms of; the new environment, applying theory into practice, and the ability to coordinate patient care promptly. But the positive clinical experience as a student shaped my ability to think critically, apply knowledge, and maintain positivity and therapeutic relationship with the patients.
