For your student presentation, you are expected to go outside the readings assigned in the class and engage with a thinker whose thought complements the existential movement, and specifically was influenced by of influenced your chosen thinker.

Additional expectations include:

Presenting a brief biography, situating the thinker in his/her political and philosophical climate.

This should include discussing philosophical inspirations, especially when your thinker is directly responding to someone (Kant responds to Hume, etc.)

Listing relevant works and summarizing at least one (more can be included at your discretion) from the philosopher you have chosen.

Include relevant quotations (2 or 3 should suffice). These must be from the work you have chosen and should include page numbers. These should NOT be from a Google search of \\\”Freud quotes\\\” or going to brainyquotes or some other quotation repository.

Connecting the major ideas of this thinker to one or more of the readings for the class.
